PUBLISHING ETHICS & POLICIES

Responsible Publishing & Scholarly Integrity

JPM Publishers is committed to responsible scholarly communication, transparent editorial practices, research integrity, author rights, accessibility, and long-term preservation of published scholarly work.

OUR POLICY FRAMEWORK

Publishing with clarity, integrity and accountability

JPM Publishers supports scholarly publishing through documented submission, review, editorial, publication, metadata and preservation workflows. Our policies are intended to promote academic integrity, fairness, transparency and responsible communication throughout the publication lifecycle.

The publisher-level framework applies to publishing activities under JPM Publishers. Where a journal maintains additional or more specific requirements, those journal-specific policies and author instructions apply in conjunction with this framework.

01. Publication Ethics & Research Integrity

JPM Publishers expects authors, reviewers, editors and publishing personnel to maintain high standards of academic honesty and responsible scholarly conduct.

Our publishing framework addresses plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, fabrication and falsification of data, inappropriate citation practices, authorship concerns, conflicts of interest and other forms of publication misconduct.

Allegations of misconduct are considered seriously and may require clarification, investigation, correction, retraction or other appropriate action depending on the circumstances.

02. Peer Review & Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are expected to be based on the scholarly quality, relevance, originality, methodological soundness and overall contribution of the submitted work.

For IJERESM, manuscripts are subject to editorial screening and structured expert review. The journal's stated review framework uses double-blind peer review, with reviewers selected according to subject expertise.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective and constructive assessments, maintain confidentiality and disclose potential conflicts of interest.

Editorial and review decisions should not be influenced by personal, commercial or other inappropriate considerations.

03. Authorship, Originality & Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted work is original, accurately reported and not simultaneously under consideration elsewhere unless explicitly permitted by the applicable journal policy.

All listed authors should have made appropriate contributions to the work and should approve the submitted manuscript. Author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest and other relevant declarations should be disclosed where applicable.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that required declarations and submission information are complete and accurate.

04. Plagiarism, Misconduct & Ethical Compliance

Manuscripts may undergo plagiarism and content-integrity checks as part of the editorial screening process. Concerns may include plagiarism, inappropriate text reuse, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, fabricated or falsified data and other forms of research or publication misconduct.

Where a concern is identified, the editorial office may request clarification or supporting information from the authors. Depending on the findings, the manuscript may be rejected or, in the case of a published article, appropriate post-publication action may be taken.

JPM Publishers supports the use of established publication-ethics principles, including guidance associated with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), where applicable.

05. Artificial Intelligence & AI-Assisted Work

The use of artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation, language improvement, data analysis, code generation, image creation or other stages of research should be disclosed where required by the applicable journal policy.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity and scholarly validity of their submitted work, regardless of whether AI-assisted tools were used.

For IJERESM, the manuscript submission system specifically provides an AI Usage Disclosure field for authors to describe relevant AI use.

06. Data Availability, Reproducibility & Research Ethics

Authors are expected to report research methods and findings accurately and to provide appropriate information concerning data, software, supplementary material and research resources where applicable.

Where research involves human participants, animals, surveys, interviews, medical records or sensitive personal information, appropriate ethical review, consent and data-protection requirements should be addressed.

Authors may also be asked to provide supporting datasets, source code, supplementary files or other evidence where these materials are necessary to evaluate or reproduce the reported work.

The IJERESM submission system includes fields for Data Availability, Ethics Approval, Supplementary Data and Source Code where applicable.

07. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers and editors should disclose financial, professional, personal or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or publication process.

Conflict-of-interest information should be provided at the appropriate stage so that editorial and review processes can be managed fairly and transparently.

The IJERESM expert review system includes an explicit conflict-of- interest declaration for reviewers.

08. Copyright, Licensing & Open Access

JPM Publishers supports open access dissemination where provided by the applicable journal. For IJERESM, authors retain copyright and published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The licensing framework permits sharing and reuse subject to the conditions of the applicable Creative Commons license and appropriate attribution to the original authors and source.

09. Corrections, Retractions & Post-Publication Issues

Maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record is an ongoing responsibility. If a significant error is identified after publication, the appropriate response may include a correction, clarification, editorial notice or retraction, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue.

Allegations of serious publication or research misconduct may be investigated with an opportunity for relevant parties to provide clarification or supporting information.

Post-publication concerns are considered as part of the publisher's commitment to maintaining an accurate and trustworthy scholarly record.

10. Complaints & Appeals

Authors, reviewers and readers may raise concerns relating to the publication process, editorial handling or published content.

Complaints should be communicated with sufficient information to allow the matter to be assessed. The publisher or relevant editorial office will review the concern and determine an appropriate course of action.

Authors may also submit an appeal when they believe an editorial decision warrants reconsideration. Appeals are assessed independently from the original decision as far as reasonably practicable, with additional editorial review or an independent panel considered where appropriate.

The objective is to provide a fair, documented and transparent process while protecting the integrity of editorial decision-making.

11. Privacy & Protection of Submitted Information

Publishing workflows may require the collection and processing of personal and professional information, including author names, affiliations, contact details, reviewer information, manuscripts, declarations and editorial correspondence.

Such information is used for legitimate publishing-related purposes, including manuscript handling, peer review, editorial communication, publication, scholarly metadata management and research-integrity activities.

Information relating to manuscripts and peer review is handled with appropriate confidentiality and is not disclosed publicly unless disclosure is part of the applicable publication process or is otherwise required.

Individuals providing information through publishing systems are encouraged to review the applicable privacy information and contact the publisher if they have questions regarding the handling of their data.

12. Advertising, Commercial Influence & Communication

JPM Publishers seeks to maintain editorial independence from commercial influence. Publishing decisions should be based on scholarly and editorial considerations rather than advertising or commercial interests.

The current IJERESM publishing framework does not use advertising on the journal website or within published content.

Publisher and journal communications are intended to be accurate, professional and relevant to the academic publishing context.

13. Digital Preservation & Long-Term Accessibility

JPM Publishers recognizes that publication is not complete when an article first appears online. Continued access to the scholarly record is an important part of responsible publishing.

IJERESM maintains digital preservation arrangements through Zenodo, with published articles archived to support long-term accessibility should circumstances affecting the journal's primary website arise.

Scholarly metadata infrastructure, DOI-related workflows and machine-readable metadata access also support discoverability and continued identification of published research.

14. Accessibility & Scholarly Communication

JPM Publishers supports efforts to make scholarly information available in forms that can be accessed by a wider academic community.

As part of the publishing infrastructure supporting IJERESM, accessible research communication initiatives include audio summaries associated with published research where provided.

Accessibility initiatives are intended to complement, rather than replace, the full scholarly article and its associated publication metadata.

15. Scholarly Metadata, DOI & Discoverability

Structured scholarly metadata is an important part of the modern publication lifecycle. JPM Publishers supports metadata workflows associated with DOI registration, article identification, references and machine-readable scholarly information.

The publishing infrastructure supporting IJERESM includes a Crossref XML generation facility and an OAI-PMH endpoint for machine-readable metadata harvesting.

These systems are intended to improve interoperability, discoverability and reliable identification of published research.

16. Publisher–Journal Relationship

JPM Publishers is the publisher. The International Journal of Emerging Research in Engineering, Science, and Management (IJERESM) is the journal currently published under the JPM Publishers framework.

The publisher provides the publishing infrastructure and publishing framework, while journal-specific editorial activities, scope, submission requirements and editorial policies are maintained through the journal's operational systems.

This distinction is intended to make the roles of the publisher and the journal transparent to authors, reviewers, readers and other stakeholders.

17. Publishing Model, Funding & Fees

JPM Publishers follows an independent, community-oriented publishing model. The publisher does not describe itself as a legally constituted nonprofit organization.

IJERESM currently operates as an open-access journal without article processing charges or subscription charges. Its publishing infrastructure includes operational expenses associated with hosting, DOI registration, technical systems and related publishing services.

The applicable journal website should always be consulted for the current fee and submission conditions before submitting a manuscript.

18. Continuous Improvement & Policy Review

Publishing standards, digital infrastructure and scholarly communication practices continue to evolve. JPM Publishers periodically reviews its publishing framework and may update policies, workflows and technical practices when necessary.

Journal-specific policy pages and submission instructions may therefore contain more detailed or updated requirements applicable to particular publications.
